Wet weather procedures – recording results

Well, that wasn’t a very pleasant way to start the season, but some more rain is always useful.

Some reminders about the scoring of incomplete games:

If the greens are closed before matches start, or if a match starts and is called off before the required number of ends have been completed (refer Rule 5.7.1), then the game is treated as a draw.  When entering the scores into BowlsLink all the home side needs to do is click on the spanner in the top right hand corner and select ‘Mark as Un-played’, and then give the reason – Washout or Heatout.  You do not need to enter any scores for the individual rinks – the system will handle that.  Points and shots will not be allocated to each rink – they will only be allocated to the match total.  The last thing you need to do is press the Complete button at the bottom of the screen.

The away side needs to confirm the result in the same way as any other game by clicking the Confirm button.

As these games count towards matches played both sides should ensure that the names of their players are correct before finalizing the scores.

For some of today’s matches Clubs have entered shots for each rink as was the arrangement last year.  We apologise for not notifying Clubs of this change, but there have been some changes to the Bowlslink system since we released the Conditions of Play.  We will make the corrections in BowlsLink for these matches.

A reminder too, about forfeits, as per the Conditions of Play:

5.4.6    Match & Program Committee MUST be advised in writing of ALL forfeits, including the date and time the forfeit was given, by email to matchcommittee@bowlssa.com.au .

If there are any questions regarding the above or further clarification required, please contact Match & Program (matchcommittee@bowlssa.com.au)
