MBA Grand Finals Review for season 2024-2025.

The Clubs that were invited to be the host venues for the grand finals this season did an excellent job of preparing their greens for the playing of all finals, as well as supporting them with their volunteer members, to look after the many players and spectators that attended the grand finals.

This season we had 23 Saturday grand finals, Wednesday 15 grand finals and Thursday 8 grand finals.

So, for 46 grand finals held, we gave out 636 medals overall, such that each member of a grand final winning Side received a medal, to commemorate their achievement.

To promote this great sport of Bowls, we again used the services of Spacequake Sports, to livestream all of our Premier division grand finals for everyone to view them.

Over 10,200 viewers watched our Saturday grand final between Ascot Park and Adelaide, either on YouTube or the MBA Facebook page. Our Wednesday Men’s grand final between Hawthorn and Marion and the Thursday Women’s grand final between Hawthorn and Ascot Park, attracted over 9,000 viewers between them. Our commentary teams did a good on all the matches they attended.

Thousands of spectators also went along to the Clubs hosting the grand finals to watch the matches being played, to support their members and friends playing, no matter the divisions they were playing within.

For the record books, the Adelaide Club won their first MBA premiership within the Saturday Premier division. The Marion Club won their first MBA premiership within the Wednesday Men’s Premier division. After competing in the past five grand finals in the MBA Women’s Thursday Premier division, the Hawthorn Club won back-to-back premierships to retain their champion’s title.

Once again, we thank Paradise Mazda, the MBA’s Major Sponsor, for contributing towards the cost of all the champions trophies and medals. Their General Manager, Ben Neale, presented all the trophies and medals at the Thursday Women’s grand finals held at the Lockleys Club, to the winning Sides. Ben was amazed at the exciting atmosphere of the occasion, displayed by everyone present.

To all the winners, enjoy your success. To all the Clubs that participated in the end of season finals, well done.

Preparation for the next season is already in progress. It’s already April and October will race towards us. Let’s hope we can receive some rain as soon as possible.

Once again thank you to all of our Clubs that hosted our MBA grand finals, as well as all the spectators that went along and watched them. And thank you to all the viewers that watched those grand finals through our livestream presentations.
